******WE WILL BE MEETING @ 44th St and Skillman Ave @ 1:45pm.******

This has always been SUDS biggest event. Please take the time out of your busy schedules for 2 hours of fun and celebration of all that is Sunnyside! SUDS is one of, if not THE, biggest group in our ‘hood. Let’s show them why. Our record was 60 dogs, lets BREAK that record in 2014:) It is a great parade and this will be SUDS 12th time marching.

We are working on an ADOPTION theme to this event and will be inviting local rescues to bring along their dogs with ‘adopt me’ jackets. If you are currently fostering a dog, or know of someone that is, have them show up with their dog with an bright “ADOPT ME” Jacket. We will then be closing the small dog run, post parade, from 330-530pm that day for any possible adoptions.

R.I.P. ANNIE (Walter’s Dog)

If you have met an Englishman that had a fanny pack full of dog treats on the streets of Sunnyside then you have been lucky enough to meet Walter and his dog Annie.

Annie passed away February 8th, 2014. She was originally a stray that lived near the train tracks along 43rd St. Folks that fed the cat colony there took care of her with food/water. One day she was hit by a car and lived with that broken leg for a few years. She was picked up by Animal ‘Care’ and Control and rescued by a Sunnysider named Maryanne. Walter took Annie in and had her for the last 8 years.

You would know Annie if you saw her, she struggled with that broken leg the rest of her life, BUT it never dampened her spirit. She was such a happy dog, and had the perfect owner in Walter, who doted over her and gave her a happy forever home.

My condolences to Walter. Rest in Peace, Annie.

Rick

Adoption Opportunity for a beautiful America Eskimo!!

My co-worker just had to “rescue” a 6-month-old American Eskimo from a pet shop because he was being kept in a crate, away from customers, because he was no longer a marketable puppy. She asked me to reach out to our great community of dog owners for help. Her message is below; email her directly with any more questions.

Hey Martin,
Attached to this email are the pictures of this little guy. We have named him Comet, but he’s still not responding to it. :(. He is super playful and sweet, im in the process potty training him, but it’s hard because he has always been inside a kennel so he gets confused…
He’s 6 months old and has all his shots up to date plus a locator chip.
I can answer any questions from anshy01@gmail.com.
Thank you so much for your help…

Thank youuuuuuuuuuu,
Anshe Lachhman
