A very sweet dog needs a home.
Due to the threat of freezing, the parks dept won’t turn the water on for a few more weeks.
In the meantime, if you are there during the day, please grab the water bottles in the grey container and bring them to the park bathroom to fill up. I’d do it, but the bathroom is closed @ 6am when I walk Matilda and @ 430pm when I get home from work. Or, fill up any empty containers you have @ home and bring them to the run.
We will need these to clean up after our dogs until we have access to water on a regular basis. Thank you:)
Regarding the water bowl in the big dog run, due to folks pouring water in it over the winter and it freezing/thawing day after day for 2 winters, the bolts snapped. I tried replacing them, but nothing fit. I contacted the company that made the fountain and they are sending us 2 sets of bolts. It should be fixed in time for water access.
Over the past few months several SUDS dogs have crossed the rainbow bridge.
SUDS picked up name tags and have applied them to the our Memorial fence.
Some of these dogs were among the new group @ the park, after the run had been built, and a few were olde skool SUDS dogs that I had always meant to memorialize.
Sam Abdrabouh of Wespaw is one of the kindest, most generous people I know, always willing to help out SUDS in any way he can. He has donated pools for our dog run, 1000’s of poop bags, equipment, employees and pet food for our adoption events.
I wish him the best of luck with his new business venture!
Please try and join us, it will be a heatwave! All the way up to 32
degrees. It’s just a small bit of your day…
TODAY, Sunday, March 1, 2015. The 15th Annual Sunnyside St Pat’s For ALL
******WE WILL BE MEETING @ 44th St and Skillman Ave @ 1:45pm.******
WHERE: parade route: Sunnyside/Woodside, beginning at Skillman Ave & 47th
Street and ending at Woodside Ave & 58th Street.
This has always been SUDS biggest event. We will meet for 2 hours of fun
and celebration of all that is Sunnyside! SUDS is one of the biggest groups
in our ‘hood, let’s show them why. Our record was 60 dogs, lets BREAK it in
2015:) It is a great parade and this will be SUDS 13th consecutive time
We would like to work in an ADOPTION theme to this event and look to invite
local rescues to bring along their dogs with ‘adopt me’ jackets. If you are
currently fostering a dog, or know of someone that is, have them show up
with their dog with an bright “ADOPT ME” Jacket.
Hope to see you there!!
