SUDS Walks in Sunnyside Post Mile

President of SUDS Rick and his pooch Matilda walked alongside fellow SUDS members and Sunnyside residents in the second annual Sunnyside Post Mile! This year proceeds from this event benefitted local organizations including WOODSIDE on the Move, Sunnyside Shines, The Skillman Project, Sunnyside Artists and SUDS! We are very grateful and honored to receive funds to help keep our park safe and clean for the entire community. We will also be donating part of the funds received to the Port Athority K9 Patrol dogs to provide for emergency trauma kits for injured dogs.

SAVE THE DATE: The 15th Annual Sunnyside St Pat’s For ALL Parade!

WHEN: March 2nd, 2014, 1:00pm Assembly & Remarks; 2:00pm Parade Step-off
WHERE: Sunnyside/Woodside, beginning at Skillman Ave & 47th Street and ending at Woodside Ave & 58th Street.

This has always been SUDS biggest event. Please take the time out of your busy schedules for 2 hours of fun and celebration of all that is Sunnyside! SUDS is one of, if not THE, biggest group in our ‘hood. Let’s show them why. Our record was 60 dogs, lets BREAK that record in 2014:)

It is a great event and this will be SUDS 12th time marching. We are working on an ADOPTION theme to this event and will be inviting local rescues to bring along their dogs with ‘adopt me’ jackets.

10/5/13 Adopt-a-thon @ SUDS Dog Run

SUDS will have its first major event on Saturday, October 5th, from 12pm-4pm, an ADOPTATHON.

We are partnering with an excellent Queens based rescue group called FOUR PAWS SAKE (http://www.fourpawssakenyc.com/) and NEED VOLUNTEERS to help set up, break down and work with the dogs and cats during the event.

If you can spare a few hours that day to volunteer please contact Jeannette Remak @ valkyr1097@nyc.rr.com
It’s important because the more volunteers we have the more dogs 4 Paws Sake can bring.

Remember, many of our own dogs came from similar situations, and there was someone there to pitch in and donate a few hours to get them adopted to you. Let’s all do our part to return love:)

We will also have CANINE GOOD CITIZEN TRAINING and Kristie from PAWSITIVE DOG TRAINING to provide help and training tips for our own pets.

As we will need the entire space, the dog run will be closed from 11am-4pm that day for the event.

SUDS 1st FREE Training Session, Saturday, 7.20.13 @ 12pm

SUDS is pleased to present, Ms. Renee Payne, author of “Walk This Way”, a Canine Behavior Therapist. This first session will deal with Dog Run Etiquette.

The Dog Run Will be CLOSED to DOGS that Saturday from 12pm-2pm for the event. The trainer only wants the owners the first time.
