Lou Lodati Park – Skillman Ave. & 42/43 Street

The dog runs at Lou Lodati / George F. Torsney Park officially opened today. After some brief remarks from Rick Duro, our SUDS president, as well as Jimmy Van Brammer, Helen Marshall’s representative Alexandra Rosa, Joseph Conley and Dorothy Lewandowski there was a ribbon-cutting ceremony and dogs and owners happily walked into the dog run for the first time. Thanks to the tireless efforts of some of our founding members, our newest members and our president, Rick Duro, we have gained a home for our pets in Sunnyside!

Click Here to view and read the “Letter of Intent” presented to the the Community Board 2 in Sunnyside in June 2, 2011. It was during this meeting that the Board unanimously voted in favor of the proposed dog run.
Below are many links that tell the story of these efforts and demonstrate the endurance of SUDS.
